Eddie Van Halen Offers Fans a Positive Update on His Health

(Courtesy of http://ultimateclassicrock.com/) - Eddie Van Halen gives an update on his health, while David Lee Roth shows off his command of the Japanese language, in a video greeting for Van Halen fans posted by Tokyo-based concert promoter UDO.

The Van Halen News Desk reports that the clip, which can’t be embedded but can be viewed on YouTube, was filmed “just a few days ago” during rehearsals for Van Halen’s on-going tour. The band plays Sydney, Australia on April 20 before beginning a series of dates in Japan on June 18.

“I’m happy, very healthy — and very much looking forward to playing for our Japanese fans — see you soon!” Van Halen says in video. Roth then offers his own greeting in what appears to be flawless Japanese. VHND also says his message can be roughly translated to this: “Japan, thanks for the support. I will gladly help you if you need me.”

The band has resumed its postponed tour in support of 2012′s ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ after Eddie Van Halen’s recovery from a nasty case of diverticulitis. Roth, meanwhile, is spending his down time in Japan, where the flamboyant frontman apparently fell in love with a local girl.
