Bob Weir Collapses Onstage

(Courtesy of http://ultimateclassicrock.com/) – Late in Furthur’s performance at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. last night (April 25), former Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir collapsed onstage. The video is embedded above.

At approximately the 55-second mark of the video, during ‘Unbroken Chain,’ Weir, who reportedly had been having problems with his vocals and guitar throughout the night, fell and crashed into lead guitarist John Kadlecik. The band continued to play as roadies helped the 65-year old Weir to his feet and provided a chair so that he could continue playing.

According to ABC News Radio, the band left the stage after the song, returning soon without Weir to finish the show. Bassist Phil Lesh told the crowd that Weir had suffered a shoulder injury earlier in the day while working out in the gym. There is no update yet on Weir’s condition.

The concert was the last of nine dates for Furthur at the Capitol Theatre. The band, which Weir and Lesh founded in 2009, are scheduled to play Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. on Saturday.
